The problem
If you're a law student, medical student, or anyone studying from dense material, you know the pain. Your PDFs are hundreds of pages long. Your lecture recordings are hours. And the tools you use either can't handle the size, or force you to bounce between five different apps to read, take notes, make flashcards, and review.
What we're building
Paper puts everything in one place. Upload a 3,000-page PDF or a two-hour lecture - we'll extract the text, generate flashcards, create quizzes, and let you chat with your sources. All with a Notion-style editor so you can take notes right alongside your material.

Learning should be free
Good study tools shouldn't cost a fortune. Paper will forever have a generous free tier because access to great tools should come before the ability to pay for them.
Everything in one place
You shouldn't need five apps to study. Your readings, notes, flashcards, and AI chat belong together - so you can focus on the material, not on switching tabs.
Truth over fluency
AI should help you understand your sources, not replace them. Every answer in Paper cites specific pages so you can check for yourself. If it's not in the document, we say so.
No limits on depth
Most tools struggle past a couple hundred pages. We think the hardest-working students shouldn't have the worst experience. Paper handles thousands of pages because that's what real study looks like.
Just do it
We're a small team that moves quickly. When users tell us something's broken, we fix it the same day. When they ask for a feature, it's usually live within the week.
